hi everyone,

I have three questions. Maybe they are very easy but I am new in Sql server.

1) I have a filegroup named fg and two files ndf inside it which named f_ndf1 and f_ndf2. How can i do for create a table and to put it in f_ndf2.

2) Is it possible create a stored procedure and to put it in f_ndf1?

3) If I do a query in ssms like select * fro table. This query is wrong and I received a error message. Which file log are errors written of the ssms query?

Thank you in advances for your answers.

Check out http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa174545(SQL.80).aspx for explanation of file groups.

Also #3 should be select * from table. But what error message are you getting?

1. You can't specify file, should be in filegroup.
2. No, it's always in primary filegroup.
3. Sql doesn't write those kind of error message to user db. All system messages are stored in master..syscomments.

Ok, thank you very much. So when I have un filegroup with two files ndf,

How does sql server manage this files when I put objects into filegroup where the new object goes to f_ndf1 or f_ndf2?

You can tell me an article where it's explained well, the manage of files ndf inside filegroups.

Thanks

Sql will use both files proportionally, find details in books online.
