| Hi pals, I am from oracle background. I need a clarification on user creation sql server 2005. In Oracle what we normally follows is,Way 1------- 1. We create a user(or schema what we usually call it as)2. Give hime permissionsWay 2------1.Create a user-defined Role2.Assign permissions to Role.3.Create a user4.Assign a role to him.Note : The same role can be assigned to many Users. But in SQL Server 2005, the user creation i feel confused.1.Add a Login2.Create a Role3.Create a Schema4.Add newly created user to RoleWhat is difference between Login and Schema? Can anyone explain why it is so.Thanks & Regards. |

| Login is account to connect to sql server while schema is where db objects belong to. You can grant db permission by adding sql login to proper role in the db. |
