 Renameing sqlserver 7.0

Hi Gurus

our network team have change the name of the server and because of that i have to change the name of sqlserver 7.0, firstly after changing the computer name sqlserver got stopped... then i update the installation by runing the dump of sqlserver 7.0 std edition and the restart the server.Now i am unable to connect sqlserver by entering server ip in QA it gives me error as "[microsoft][ODBC sqlserver driver]cannot genrate SSPI context" i have also change the name of server by connecting by QA with the help of . (DOT) and runing the sp_dropserver'' and sp_addserver'' @local = 'local' sp's. please advice what to do .... thisis a production box.. please help me

You specified new host name in sp_addserver? Did you restart sql after running sp_addserver?

yes i do apecify new servername there in sp_addserver procedure.

Then did you restart sql? New server name will not take effect otherwise.
