| I am moving my Sql Server installation to a larger machine. In doing so, I don't want to change everyone's connection settings. Does anyone see any issues with using an DNS alias to connect to the new server?Using the same name is not an option per the windows admin group that is provisioning the machine. Thanks,Andy |

| Using DNS alias is ok.In the case of the client machine still have the old DNS caches on their computers, issue dos command "ipconfig /flushdns" on their machines to force update. |
