hi all,

how to restore Transactional log files in Sequence,

Restore log Db_name
from disk='d:\backup_name.trn'
...

pls required syntax for it

when Iam tryng to restore the Transaction log, it is giving error msg like

Msg 3117, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The log or differential backup cannot be restored because no files are ready to rollforward.
Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
RESTORE LOG is terminating abnormally.

what does this mean's

You have to use 'with norecovery' option when restore db.

I used this way, but still giving the same error msg.

restore log Practice
from disk= 'd:\xy1.bak'
with stats=10,replace, norecovery

Msg 3117, Level 16, State 1, Line 1

pls suggest me some thing else

You have to retore a full backup with norecovery before you restore the transaction logs.

ya I did that,
I restored FULL Backup first, then
Iam trying to restore either DIFFERENTIAL or LOG it is giving that error msg

can you pls check the above given syntax for restoring LOG is correct or any one can pls suggest me regarding the syntax

Can't use replace and norecobery at same time.
