My web hosting provider allows me to access database via Management studio, but to restore a database, a ticket have to be submited. I intent to extract MS SQL 2005 database into sql script, then I can execute this script to easily restore my database.I tried EMS SQL Manager 2008 in my development server with login user sa, but when I executed the extracted script, I got an error message:The procedure 'sys.sp_droprolemember' cannot be executed within a transaction. Is there any tools that can achieve this task? Thanks

If you're talking restoring onto a local server, why don't you set up a local database and then Import the objects (structure/data)?Jack Vamvas--------------------Search IT jobs from multiple sources- http://www.ITjobfeed.com

Yes, I’m talking about backup db on hosting machine.I can delete and recreate db from the web control panel and I can connect to the db remotely via SQL Server Management Studio, but to restore and backup db, I have to submit a ticket to the web hosting provider. Now I am looking for a tool that can extract db into a SQL script , then I can execute this script in the remote hosting machine to restore the database. Thanks

Don't think hosting company let you do that, otherwise they'll not ask for ticket.
