Hi

I have setup a step in SQL Server Agent to run a SSIS package that I have created. However the step fails straight away and refers me to the history log, which doesnt seem to show what the problem is.

I've tried running the package manually through dtexec.exe and it runs through fine. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanks

I had this issue on time and chased my tail for a day or two. I am not sure if this is your issue, my issue was that my source and my destination server were not on the same Port. You may also want to check the permissions level of your SQL Server Agent Service.

Hi

I have managed to get all the packages apart from one running them as a server package instead of file system. The aim of the package that I am failing to run is to create an exported excel file with a datestamp within the file name.

Does anyone know why this one would fail. I look in the history log and it states that it cannot open the file that it is trying to make, which is confusing as it hasnt made the file yet.

Any ideas?

Where is the file? If it's on remote location, sql agent service account needs permission to access it.

Its stored on the same server as the sql agent, as are all the the other packages. How would you set the permissions?

Thanks

Not package file. Does step in the package access remote data file?

All the data is stored on the same machine as the server.

Hi

I have managed to get the package running through using a SQL Proxy.

My only concern is that the proxy is based on credentials of an admin.
I've tried creating a new login with less access rights and used this for the proxy, but this failed. I also made the new login an admin and applied it to the proxy, but this still failed.

Does anyone know what kind of network issue this could be?

Thanks

Still permission issue as said above. The account used needs permission on all files involved.
