| Hi allsI instaled visual studio 2008 on to my computer. Then try to istall sql 2005 standard edition. I got error message of "SQL Server Setup could not run. Another instance of SQL Server Setup is already running. The running instance must complete before you can run SQL server Setuo again." The visual studio installed 2005 express edition with components and finished installing. It shouldnt be running any other setup. Is it about I install newer version of sql first then install older version second? And I also tried to ugrade but this time another error message "You must install the .net Framework 2.0 before you install upgrade advisor. The .net framework installation files in the \redist\2.0 folder of the setup DVD or directory." But when I check the add/remove panel the framework 2.0 sp1 already installed. When I tried to install the file mention at error message the another ununderstandble error massege come up. I am waiting you guys if you can help me thanks in advance... |

| I tried many times.. I also tried uninstall previous sql instance(2005 express comes with VS 2008) But this time en error message telling me that there is no framework 2.0 installed. However .net fw service pack1 .net compact fw 2.0 SP2 installed. The error massage is because of sql 2000 standad editition can not understand the newer version of fw 2.0 I guess... I couldnt install the fm 2.0 separately from sql 2005 dvd files. It gives error. Is it anyway installing sql 2005 standart on to the vs 2008 |

| In this case, I'll remove vs2k8, install sql2k5 then install vs2k8 again without sql2k5 express. |
