Hi all-I'm curious if anybody knows about how to add the new "IIS_IUSERS" group to the security of SQL Server 2005 under Windows Server 2008. Microsoft removed IIS_WPG group from the new OS and named it IIS_IUSRS. Under Server 2003 we used to set-up datbase security using the IIS_WPG group. Unfortunately SQL Server 2005 doesn't recognize the IIS_IUSRS group and I imagine it will be included in SQL Server 2008. Is there a patch or a way to add the "IIS_IUSRS" group so SQL Server 2005 will recognize it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,BW

If IIS_IUSRS exists on the server, should be able to add it as sql2k5 login. You can create local group IIS_WPG, but how do you associate it to IIS?

Hi rmiao-I figured you should be able to add IIS_USERS to SQL 2005, but it doesn't recognize the group. IIS_WPG is installed on W2K3 and IIS 6.0 by default. Under W2K8 and IIS 7.0 they have changed the installed IIS group to IIS_IUSRS, so I don't know if there is a way to create a group and associate it with IIS.
