Is there a XP, or some sort of function which gives the RAM on a server USING QA?

The query gives the SQL SERVER settings; I need to know the available RAM on the server.

You could make a linked server or maybe use WMI?

Thanks Peso; probably that will work. I have never tried WMI. Thanks anyway.

As a quick workaround, you can use the free sysinternals command, PSINFO, to get the memory and a lot of other info.

psinfo \\MyServer

This is really great! Thanks MVJ. I will run the tool for my servers and probably write a textpad macro to filter the necessary infomration.

Just a note for using the sysinternals applications.
First time application is run, you have to click ok to accept.
This can lead to problems if server is not the machine were you are at the moment. If not, you have to use Remote Desktop to logon to the sql server and there click ok before exection continues in ssms/em.

This behaviour was not there before. This was added when Sysinterals were incorporated by Microsoft.

Or this approach?

select physical_memory_in_bytes from sys.dm_os_sys_info
