New SQL Server 2005 install (Stnd edition with SP2) and the Vendor for the Application Software has these requirements: MS SQL Server SP2 with FULL Text Indexing and Natural Language Query. Collation SQL_Latin1_General_CPI_CI_AS; Date settings Month/Day/YearWhen I installed SQL Server I basically installed the Default Collation of SQL_Latin1_General - is that different from their requirements???Also, not sure about Natural Languarge Query AND the date settings??? is Natural Language Query installed by default and how do I check or change the Date Settings????

for installing english query:http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa176566(SQL.80).aspxfor date settings you need to do:SET DATEFORMAT MDYbut you can tell that this app is poorly built just from the date format requirement.SQL_Latin1_General is case insensitive so your equal operations won't match for same strings of different casings against values with SQL_Latin1_General_CPI_CI_AS._______________________________________________Causing trouble since 1980blog: http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/mladenpSSMS Add-in that does a few things: www.ssmstoolspack.com

You can change db collation with 'alter database'.

Choose custom install, you can pick collation there. Don't think you can set date format during installation.
