| Good morning,I am receiving the following error when trying to connect to sql through Cisco VPN Client."An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connections to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider:Named Pipes Provider, Error: 40-Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error:53)Can anyone offer any advise?Thank you,Tommy |

| Did you enable remote connection in SQL server surface area config and set startup type to automatic for MSSQL. Check also the settings for TCP/IP and named pipes. |
